Democrats finally have a winning platform?
I'll be the first to admit that Hillary Clinton used to conjure up some pretty unsavory thoughts in my mind, and for no real good reason at that. I can't really think of a good reason why. Regardless of that point, Clinton is developing an excelent platform that I think would win Democrats the next election. It's opposite of the big business, rich person first attitude of the Bush Administration. Read the link for a better idea.
"It's the American Dream, Stupid."
"This plan will make the basics of life in the middle class -- health care, education and retirement -- affordable for those who take responsibility," Clinton said.
"These ideas will make sure every American will get a fair wage, access to college and home ownership and a path out of poverty and into the middle class," she said.

Net Neutrality on the Superhighway
I have heard many arguments regarding net neutrality in the past months. For those who don't know what the issue is... the government is debating legislation that would require internet service providers to manage internet traffic on equal terms. The information superhighway, as it the internet is often referred to, can be accessed only by connecting to an internet service provider.
Why does net neutrality make sense? Because if the internet is truly a superhighway, are you prepared to encounter toll roads where ever you drive? Can you imagine that driving to McDonald's would cost more than driving to Burger King? What if you could only drive to Home Depot at 35 miles an hour, but you could cruise 60 MPH to Lowe's?
This is the essential debate. ISP's want the right to discriminate internet traffic so they can make money by limiting choices.
The saddest part of this whole story, US senator Ted Stevens is on the Senate Commerce Committee in charge of regulating the internet. He doesn't have a clue about the internet, much less how to talk about it.
The best Stevens' quote, "I just the other day got, an internet was sent by my staff at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday and I just got it yesterday."

Government needs better things to do.
Independent Online Reports- The government just arrested the CEO of BetonSports, an internet gambling site run out of London. It is run out of London because online gambiling is illegal in the U.S. "He was picked up at Dallas airport, changing planes on the way to the company's headquarters in Costa Rica." That sucks!
US Attorney Catherine Hanaway says that "Misuse of the internet to violate the law can ultimately only serve to harm legitimate businesses."
People are going to waste there money however they want. Catherine Hanaway can't do anything to stop it... but she can spend a boatload of taxpayer money in the process.
